August has come and gone...not to mention September...

We got home from vacation and Bryan finished the shed doors. He did such a great job on the shed and it is so nice to have all the lawn stuff and the EZ-GO in there instead of in his shop. 

August 10 marked one year since Ferne passed away and all the kids and Jon and Alicia came out to hang out. Jenny was here on her way home and Bryan finally had time to level the ground for the swimming pool.

The hardest part of the whole deal that is for sure. 

Time to lay out the under linings.

ANYWAY we finally got it all put up and started filling it up.

We had supper...

Satchel and Navy, so entertaining...she said "I'm sorry I didn't bring you a crown!"

 and since we were only a week from Bobbi and Travis' first anniversary I had made them a cake.

They have done some major remodeling to their house with Bryan's help in the past year so I included things related to that on the cake.

When the pool was finally full 2 days later...Bryan and I were the first ones to swim in it. The water was a bit chilly but it was wonderful!

Then on Saturday, August 15, the girls and Travis came out. Trey had to work.

The very best part of this day was Bobbi and Travis telling us that they are expecting! We are so excited!

On Monday, August 17 Poppy and I hung out together and then Jayme and Trey came out after work to swim, have supper and pick Poppy up.

She wasn't sure about the dolphin at first but if Jayme thought it was fun then she did. 

Friday, August 21 some of us went to the stock car races in Beatrice.

Hudson got to come with us. He loved it.

I made flag cookies and we saw a spectacular wreck right in front of us.

Sunday, August 23 we went and watched Trey play soccer in the evening. He plays on a city league team.

This was such a beautiful day. Cool and sunny. Not August in Nebraska like at all. 

Wednesday, August 26 after school the kids and I came out here to swim because they thought they would never get to use the pool!! It was a fun afterschool activity.

Saturday, August 29 the girls all came out to hang out with me and watch movies. It was such a fun relaxing day.

That brings us to the end of August. I apologize for being so quiet on here for so long. Life just has a way of getting in the way.
