We drove to Omaha and caught our first flight, which was to Chicago.
Goodbye, Nebraska.
Hello, Chicago.
In Chicago we caught a flight to New York JFK and from there caught a flight out to Madrid.
Tuesday, November 1
Hello, Madrid.
We landed at 9:30 a.m. and went through all the hoops of entering another country. Went to the baggage claim to get our luggage. Wait, wait, wait... my bag doesn't show up. Go file a report (meanwhile Ashley is waiting in the part just outside the doors and so we sent Bobbi and Jayme out to her). Get the report done and go hug Ashley for the first time in 10 months. It was so good to see her. We caught a bus to downtown and then walked from the stop to Ashley's place.
Dropped off our stuff (our apartment wasn't ready for us to check in yet) and went to get some lunch. Lots of talking and walking later we went back to Ashley's place, dropped off Jayme and Bobbi and went to check in to our apartment. Back to Ashley's to get our luggage and the girls, back to the temporary apartment. Rest a little,
look at a map that Ashley marked for us.
(look like you have been up for over 24 hours...)
That evening Ashley took us to a market where you can buy little things (tapas) and just walk around eating them or sit if you can find a place.
Back to the apartment (3 San Marcos, Madrid) and crash.
