Happy Easter

I am so grateful that "Happy Easter" is a true concept. It is for anyone who chooses to believe it. I am grateful for the reason we have an Easter celebration. I am grateful that I had parents who taught me about God and how He loves me and sent His Son to die for me and redeem me. I am grateful for that. I am grateful that no matter what that love never changes. I am grateful that Bryan was raised by parents that taught him the same things and that we in turn got to teach them to our children. I am grateful for my children and who they are and are becoming. They amaze me. So Happy Easter, be amazed at what God has done and rest in the truth of it.

Finished Product-

Bryan has been working on a sculpture for the office waiting area at the church. He finished it and last Monday they installed the sculpture. It is beautiful. 8 feet long and 4 feet high at the tallest point. The nails on the cross are the ones he was forging when he taught me how to make them. I'm so proud of him.

Just one more thing...

I want to take a moment and thank anyone and everyone who takes the time to read my thoughts and memories here. Sometimes I write these and forget that they are read by others in other places. Initially I began this as a way to connect us with Ashley when she moved to Spain. She is back and I'm still writing things down. I don't know all of you but in a weird way you are getting to know me and share my life. Thanks for reading about me (us). Feel free to leave a comment on the blog. I love hearing what you have to say. I am also extremely curious about who you are and what drew you to this particular blog. I love my life and the people in it and I love that you come by this blog and read about us. I couldn't resist taking a screen shot of the stats of the blog. It fascinates me. Thanks again for your interest.

Back to last night...

Bryan asked if I wanted to come in to meet him for supper, Jayme needed to give him something and so joined us, we decided to go out to Aardvark Antique Mall and look around. (The weather has definately been "indoor activity" weather lately) Jayme and I found a few gems worth photographing...we didn't buy them. Surprised? Well, they were tempting but we stayed strong. I did however buy the pre-1900's 2 volume set of Les Miserables for $16.00. A steal if you ask me.
We weren't too sure why there was a basket of doll parts but Jayme picked it up and said "I found my Easter Basket!" and a photo was necessary. The shirt...well it was from the 80's so we will just leave it at that.

Of Easter Eggs and Snowstorms...

The weather has been decidedly un-springlike. Today we planned to dye eggs and at noon, large fluffy flakes of snow began to fall and continued all afternoon and still, this evening, are falling. The girls came out anyway and we had so much fun. We ate stew and homemade bread, dyed eggs, ate polka dot cake and watched Veggie Tales "Lord of the Beans" (a take off on "Lord of the Rings") Hilarious and well worth watching. Then we just hung out, talked and napped. They have all gone home and my house is quiet once more. I miss them. But I am one of the lucky ones. I get to see them at least once a week. I don't take that lightly.

Yesterday - 60 degrees; Today - 26 and blizzard...

It rained all night and then at 4 a.m. it began to snow and freeze. Bryan had a vacation weekend this weekend so we just stayed at home. Sounds like it was a good choice from what I have heard about the roads. So after lunch Bryan asked me if I wanted to go out to the shop and forge some nails for a sculpture he made for church. We bundled up and headed out. It was very fun. He is a very good teacher. I made two.

How can it be?

How is it that something so beautiful (a blue sky full of snow geese) can be so annoying, messy and noisy? Oh well, they will head north eventually...
