This is always the good time, the time you know that all the work you have put in is showing and you can sort of sit back and enjoy the fruit of it. Tour is work but not the kind of "getting ready, what am I forgetting" kind of work.
July 4th in Seward, NE
We marched in the parade, ate some good BBQ, then went to the concert site. For some reason, known only to the committee there in Seward, they cancelled the fireworks. It had been a drizzly morning in Seward but by 5 p.m. the sun had come out and it was amazing. Anyway, we felt like we had made a commitment to sing and would follow through on that. I was so glad we did. The kids did great. We had a good crowd and it was just a great start to tour. So tomorrow we take off and it will at times seem like it will never end and at times like it is flying by.
